Overview
I invite you to discover the Phoenician cities of Sidon, with its Crusader Castle and old quarters steeped in history, and Tyre, cradle of Europe and Cadmos, with its still active ancient port, its churches and mosques, its two Greco-Roman archaeological sites and its magnificent sandy beach.
The regions of Tyre and Sidon are part of the Holy Land where lived Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, whose family was in Cana near Tyre, the place of Jesus’ first miracle. They often traveled to Sidon by staying in the Grotto of Maghdouche, a place of considerable religious importance, overlooking the green coastal plain of southern Lebanon.
